Está vs es
Está is used to:
- Indicate the location of a person/object.
El taxi está aquí - Temporary states.
El hotel está cerrado.
Es is used to:
- Describe the quality of a person/object.
El taxi es amarillo
Questions
Questions need to be surrounded with ¿ ?. Verb/subject inversion is required most of the time, but can be ignored for a more casual tone.
Adjectives
Adjectives usually come after the noun they’re describing.
- Un vestido azul
- Una camisa rosa
Negatives
Negatives can be constructed by adding no before the verb.
- Yo no estudios inglés
